I said I wanted to be in the $160-$170 range and no more. I also said I was interested in getting a home security system as well. I recently became frustrated with Xfinity after having been a loyal customer since March of 2013. I let Xfinity know that I love some of the services and that I would not cut my internet bc their internet speed is unparalleled in my area.

Overall, the Comcast Xfinity Home security service covers all your bases, just at an unpredictable cost. If the price is right where you live, Xfinity Home is most effective when you bundle. Add TV, Wi-Fi, and maybe even home phone calling to your plan. That’ll give you a discount on home services, and you can use your phone or X1 Voice remote to control just about everything in your home.

Millions of people ask HomeGuide for cost estimates every year. We track the estimates they get from local companies, then we share those prices with you. If the monthly fee becomes cheaper once the equipment is paid off and the contract is over.

I just want the basic home security setup and not all the fancy Xfinity automation that they offer as an upsell. If the battery is removed from the base which takes about 1 minute, your whole system is down. Also if there is an error your base beeps LOUDLY every minute until they arrive to fix it, unless you pull the battery. Well, as a show of faith Xfinity waived my Home security install fee and only added a one time charge for $99 on my next billing cycle. Then, they sent the install technician on Monday morning first thing. Retentions Dept. asked me what services specifically did I want and at what monthly cost.

Retrofit existing wired sensors to work with Ring for $199. Stolen Ring equipment gets replaced for free if reported within 15 days. Compatible with Vivint’s OBD II Car Guard, which protects your vehicle with alerts about being bumped, stolen, or towed. We've reviewed all the systems below and laid out the benefits and drawbacks of each so you can make an educated decision on what works best for your household. You can order an Xfinity Home system online, which is a breath of fresh air compared to systems like ADT.

Alarm system equipment costs $199 to $399 upfront and $0 to $199 for security system installation and activation fees. Monthly security system costs depend on the brand, equipment package, and extra features installed. Many providers make the initial purchase and set up as cheap as possible but recoup the costs in monthly monitoring fees. Compare monthly prices from the best home security systems below. The most basic Xfinity Home Secure package includes professional monitoring, three door and window sensors, a touchscreen control, motion sensor, and a keypad. Additional services and pieces of equipment can be added on to create a more tailored system.

Home security systems are worth it because it reduces the chance of burglary by 300%, saves 5% to 20% on insurance, protects your family and valuables, and brings peace of mind. Alarm systems also alert carbon monoxide leaks or fires, and provide partial compensation for robberies. Some companies offer plans to connect the security system to operate smart lights, smart locks, doorbells, and thermostats to automatically lock doors or adjust the home's temperature.

Look for a home monitoring service with a longer get-out period if you want to have longer to get used to a system. From our experience, Comcast Xfinity Home has the equipment and monitoring plans needed to secure your home from top to bottom. The value is certainly there, especially when you factor in their home automation and video monitoring features.

Hobbies include wearing a seatbelt, wearing a life jacket, and keeping her arms and legs inside the ride at all times. We’d say no; Xfinity Home isn’t one of the top systems we review. However, if you’re only considering professionally installed systems, it’s an okay option.

No term contracts here. Switch between Self Protection and Professional Monitoring anytime.

It was like their internet, a promotionally term followed by a higher price. I like the other security companies because they don’t change the price on you half way through the agreement. I have a more detailed review below but you will need to have Comcast internet to have the security as the security has its own separate security wifi router. Additionally, it gives you only a few window and door contacts. Now ask yourself, how many windows and doors do you have?

I was a loyal Comcast customer for over 20 years. About 8 months ago I switched from ADT to Xfinity home security. The security measures are worthless (I’ve spoken to numerous police officers). I was never rude and tried to treat each person respectfully. Any crook with a 3rd grade education knows that if you cut the easily “accessible wire” the system ceases to function.

If you’re a current Comcast customer, or if you bundle their cable package, you’ll be able to control your entire system using the same remote control that you use for your cable. It’s certainly more convenient than pulling out your smartphone and opening the companion app to arm or disarm your system or control other commands. While it’s not cheap, $50 per month is a decent deal for total home protection, plus smart home automation and advanced video options.

You probably know Comcast for its high-speed internet, phone, and cable services. But this telecommunications giant also offers home security through their subsidiary called Xfinity. It’s called Xfinity Home — and from our research and testing, these intelligent systems provide total home protection and smart home automation. While it’s not exactly cheap, their packages and plans are straightforward and easy to understand. Best of all, Xfinity offers deals if you bundle their other services with home security. But how do the packages, plans, and pricing compare to other brands on the market?
